Who’s had this experience?
You lose your keys. You look for them everywhere, and you simply cannot find them. Eventually you give up and use the spare. At some later point, when you are no longer even thinking about the keys, maybe even when you’re looking for something else, you find the keys. And the twist is, they’re in a place you already looked multiple times.
This is a commonly-experienced example of how powerful our minds are in creating the reality we live. What really happened is that when I first looked for my keys in the expected place and did not find them there, I experienced a little spike of panic. Not big, but just enough to adjust my vibration to match the wavelength of “My keys are missing. My keys are lost.”
When that happens, we become a version of ourselves without the keys. They don’t exist for us. Another member of the family might be able to find them, but at this point, it’s almost impossible for me to find them myself.
I know of two surefire ways to reverse this state, and there are probably many others, but these are the two that have worked for me every time. I’ll give them to you below. But first things first. There is a huge lesson in this.
If my brief shift in vibration can make my keys disappear from my ability to perceive them, then how powerful must I be?
And truly, would it be any different to shift my vibration from needing a car to having a car? From needing more income to having more income? From not having a lover to having a lover? From anywhere I am to anywhere I wish to be?
No. It’s not any different at all. The only thing that prevents it, is that we don’t really believe it. When it’s as real to us as the sun coming up tomorrow, when it’s inevitable, that’s when it pops. (And for me, when I let go of wanting Thing 1 so much and move on to wanting Thing 2, that’s when Thing 1 generally pops in.)
Isn’t this an empowering bit of knowledge to have?
When I think I can’t find my keys, I can’t find my keys.
When I forget that I can’t find my keys, I find my keys.
Substitute any phrase for “find my keys” in those lines, and there you have it: one of the “keys” to manifesting your desires.
Practical ways to find the keys
Okay, now for my two proven to work (for me.)
The first way, is to stop looking. You must distract yourself thoroughly, take on an entirely unrelated activity that takes your mind off the keys.
If that’s not possible, and you need immediate assistance finding the keys, and there’s no one else around to help you look, I suggest the following.
You’ll need a beaded necklace, any type, or one you make especially for this purpose.
You’ll need to choose two chants. They can as meaningful or meaningless as you want. I learned this using Wiccan prayer beads and two Wiccan chants, so that’s how I’ve done it, but honestly, I think you could use two nursery rhymes, two lines from your favorite Beyoncé song, or a couplet you compose yourself. (That’s always the most powerful.)
We all come from the Goddess and to her we shall return,
Like a drop of rain flowing to the ocean.
And
Hoof and Horn, Hoof and Horn, all that dies shall be reborn
Corn and grain, corn and grain, all that fall shall rise again.
The beads were arranged with 5 small beads, then 1 larger bead. I would say the Goddess chant on the five, and then the God chant on the one.
All of this can be a sacred and magical ritual if you want it to be. But what it really is, at its heart, is a distraction for your mind. And a distracted mind is a beautiful thing, because it allows information from our higher selves to download. Usually the mind’s incessant chatter is like an intermittent internet signal. But when we quiet it with distraction, oh, that’s a powerful time for creating.
By the time you finish chanting on all the beads, either you’ll know where the item is, or you’ll go back to your daily routine and just put your hands on it within an hour. That’s how it’s always worked for me.

Thought of the day
I just read on Threads that Taylor Swift gained 2 million new followers after her endorsement of Kamala Harris. Everyone expected the assistance here would flow one way, from Swift to Harris. But instead, it flowed outward, and right back again, like a great big tidal wave.1 There’s a deep and important lesson in this. The Universe has taken the trouble to put this lesson in neon across the sky so we won’t miss it.
Wiccan tradition says,
Ever mind the Rule of Three
Three times what you give returns unto thee.
Law of Attraction says,
That which is like unto itself is drawn.
When we help someone else, the ripples go outward endlessly.
Except outward is not a precisely correct term because there is no part of creation from which we are separate. We’re both intrinsic to the Whole and enveloped within it. There is no such thing as someone else. When we help one, we help all, and when we harm one, we harm all. The ripple we create with our actions must also engulf us. It can’t be otherwise.
Like attracts like. When we give, the energy of it is more a state of heart and mind than the actually exchange of favors. It’s the feeling at the basis of the giving that causes the ripple.
And that feeling is, at its basis, love. All the positive emotions are aspects of love. And all the negative ones are aspects of fear.
I saw this news, and I thought I’d be derelict in my duties not to talk about this perfect example of Law of Attraction in action. When we give love in any form, it multiplies and returns.
I’ll leave you with a photo I took yesterday. The fall transformation is underway here in Cortland County NY, and it’s my very favorite time of year. If you zoom, you can see the bright orange on the right side of Grandfather Maple, and behind him on the right, there’s a deep maroon shade happening. Wow!

I wrote “tidal wave” on purpose. I know they’re called Tsunamis now—taking poetic license.
