Help! I've been cursed!
I heard a tale from a reader about a friend who was being blackmailed by someone who claimed to be a person of magic. They threatened to curse the victim and their children unless they sent money.
Let me explain to you why this magical person is a fraud, a charlatan, and frankly, an asshole who is no more legitimate than that exiled royal fellow whose emails ask for help getting his fortune out of the country; all he needs is your bank account info and he'll split it with you.
It's bull and here's why. There is a constant stream of well-being and love flowing to and through each and every one of us from Source, of which we are a part. All power and all magic and all everything are parts of that flow. We're bathed in it continuously.
There is no corresponding flow of evil or dark energy flowing to us. There is only the lack of well-being we experience when we put obstacles between us and the flow of love. When we block off the flow, it's still flowing, but we aren't feeling it. It's as if the TV show we want too watch is playing, but we're tuned to the wrong channel--a channel we hate, and don't know how to change.
With our connection to Source blocked, we bounce around randomly attracting good things and bad things depending on our mood and what we're looking at. We feel as if we have no control whatsoever. We feel at the mercy of forces outside ourselves.
Imagine sitting in front of a TV set with a demonic-faced angry man screaming curses at you, and thinking you had no choice but to sit there and watch to the end.
You might do that if you thought there was only the one station. Maybe if you'd never seen a remote control before in your life. But once you understood that there were countless channels to choose from, and a magic controller sitting right beside you, you would no longer feel like a victim of your TV set.
The angry demon-faced screamer on the TV in my example is exactly the same as any self-described magical practitioner who curses you for any reason. He can't do shit if you just turn the channel.
How curses work on some...
Somebody tells you they have cursed you.
You believe it.
Your belief is your remote control, and you have used it to choose the channel on which the demonic-dude is shouting at you.
Now you have also tuned in whatever else is playing on that station. And that station plays one bad thing after another. So you have attuned to that energy.
Bad things happen to you. They have to. Your energy matches theirs and like attracts like.
You blame the curse.
How curses work on me...
Some asshat tells me he has cursed me.
I laugh my ass off and continue living my charmed and blissful life.
My way is much simpler. Only two steps!
The ONLY thing that can curse you is your own belief.
If I'm feeling like getting the best possible revenge, (thriving and using the curser's energy to do it,) I will perform a fun Transmutation of Energy spell, which I learned from friend and respected witch Dorothy Morrison.
However, to be very clear, there is no spell you have to do to get rid of any curse. All you have to do is stop believing in it, stop thinking about it, and stop hanging out with people who hold this sort of thing as their focus.
The Transmutation of Energy Spell
(I have shared variations of this spell before. It's one of my favorites!)
Items Needed
3 altar candles. 1 white or a color you consider positive. 1 black or a color you consider negative. 1 gray or a color you consider neutral.
1 cookie sheet
Enough aluminum foil to cover said cookie sheet.
Salt
A small piece of paper and a pen or pencil
A wish (something you want to manifest)
A lighter
Prepare for the Spell
First, line the cookie sheet with tin foil.
Hold the white candle and think of your fondest wish. Visualize it and feel the way you will feel when it is your experience.
Melt the bottoms of the candles just enough so you can stand them upright on the sheet, white on one end, black on the other, gray in the middle.
Make a circle of salt around the black candle, then draw a line of salt to the gray candle with an arrow at the end pointing to the gray candle.
Next, make a circle of salt around the gray candle, and then make a line of salt from the gray candle to the white candle with an arrow at the end pointing toward the white candle.
Next, make a circle of salt around the white candle.
The points of each arrow should touch the rim of the salt circle ahead of it. The base of each arrow should touch the rim of the salt circle behind it.
Next, write your fondest wish on a small piece of paper. Hold the paper and charge it with the energy of the wish being manifest, as you did with the white candle. Fold it up, and place it within the circle of salt around the white candle.
When you feel ready, proceed to create sacred space in whatever way is your custom.
Cast the Spell
Light the black candle, and visualize all negative energy sent by anyone or anything outside you, being absorbed into its flame. The black candle is a lightning rod, taking the negative energy aimed your way into itself instead. The negatively charged energy moves down through the base of the candle and out into the circle of salt, finding the only exit to be the route to the gray candle. Trace its path with your eyes. Imagine you can see the negatively charged energy shooting along the path of purifying salt to the gray candle.
Light the gray candle, and imagine its flame pulling all that dark energy up through it from the base to the flame, where the negative charge is burned away, and then sending the neutralized energy back down again. The neutral color ensures the energy remains neutral. Like attracts like. It must be so. As the cleansed energy moves back down the gray candle, it spreads into the circle of salt, and follows the second line of salt from the gray candle to the white candle.
Light the white candle. Bring to mind your wish. The neutral energy moves up the white candle's base and into the flame where it gathers even more. This candle is charged, remember, with your wish. The energy, now charged with your wish, travels back down the candle, taking on more of the energy of your desire and your magic as it does. It fills the circle of salt, soaking the small piece of paper in its power. (Your power!)
Let this spell burn until the candles are nearly spent, never leaving them unattended. Before the white candle dies out entirely, take the white piece of paper and light it from the white candle's flame, then drop it back into the circle of salt that surrounds the white candle and let it burn.
Let the candles burn until they burn out on their own. It is done.
The Afterspell
Gather up the tin foil, wrapping everything else within it, and bury it. It has a positive charge, so you don't need to bury it off your property. You can put it in your yard or at the bottom of a planter.
Bottom Line
You have all the power to create within your own experience. No one else has any power whatsoever to create in your experience. Only you. If you hear something that makes you afraid, and you believe it, then it exists in your experience. If you think about it too often, it will show up in your life in various ways, over and over again. And each time it does, you'll believe in it more, and a downward spiral begins.
The force that governs the Universe is one of attraction. What you are comes to you. What you are not, cannot come to you. And what you are is a combination of your experiences, beliefs, expectations, and attitude – three-quarters of which are fully within your own control. And you can overcome the experiences too, just by choosing not to keep them alive in your mind and thoughts. As Lemony Snicket's theme song said, "Look away! Look away!"
Focus on the things that are good in life. Focus on and wallow in every good thing in it. Ignore the stuff you don't want to manifest and it will fall away from your experience like magic. Law of attraction is, in fact, the force behind ALL magic. And spell casting is merely a means of aligning with your magical goal.
Nobody can curse you or hex you without your belief and cooperation.
Stand up and be your own witch.
